Love is everywhere this month, yesterday was Valentine’s Day, but I bet some of you are waiting for the weekend to go out and do something fun. People are celebrating how in love they are, or how much they love their friends and family. So, let’s seize this positive vibe and remember a few things in the name of Love!
For the last couple of days, I co-hosted a wonderful Instagram challenge that made me think about the things I love about myself.
Why is self-love important?
Once you start loving yourself you realise that you are much more capable of loving others. And also you take care of your health, your eating habits, you’re more compassionate and have more empathy for others. Which in the long run means that you’ll care about your environment and Earth!
Love your environment
Because it’s part of your life. Because you’ll realise that buying local, organic and ZeroWaste will make you have an awareness of the world you never thought it was possible. Because you love the beach and the mountain, and you want to be able to enjoy nature, you don’t want a polluted and contaminated environment around you.
I invite you to go out this weekend and appreciate the beauty that nature or the city has to offer for you. Let’s give experiences, not things. Connect with your environment.
Love the animals
Because they are a fundamental part of our ecosystem, they are part of the family. If you can’t be vegan or vegetarian, that’s fine, try to eat a more plant-based diet and make sure that you know where your food it’s coming from, make sure that the animals are treated in a kind and loving way.
Maybe this time you could try a really nice vegan restaurant or you could even try a wonderful recipe at home, may I suggest a lovely chocolate brownie?
Love your clothes
Make sure that you buy something that it’s in tune with your fundamental values. We want a just world, so make sure to vote with your money!
Support ethical companies, that treats their employees fairly, that take into consideration the environment. If you want to buy something for yourself or that special someone, give something of quality, made with love!
Love, tolerance and respect
Learn to live in harmony with everyone, even with the people that don’t agree with you, they are a part of this world, an important part, they are here to teach you something, we are in this together.
Tolerance and respect are just other forms of love. Give a smile to that stranger on the street, say thanks to the person that is taking your order at the restaurant. Spread love and light!
Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend. Martin Luther King, Jr.
